This USWB Class A type evaporation gauge provides accurate measurements suitable for the analysis of evaporation. This is made possible by comparing the level variations of an evaporating surface with the water temperature and the amount of air movement over that surface.
The stainless steel evaporation pan has an evaporating surface of 1.15 m², and is installed on a wood support.
Water level variations are measured by a micrometer placed on a stilling well in the pan. The micrometer has a range of 0 to 100 mm and gives a reading with an accuracy of 1/20 mm.
The water temperature is given by a floating maximum and minimum thermometer, with a range of -22°C to +55°C, divided into ½ degree.
The evaporation gauge can also be completed by adding a toalizing anemometer to measure the air flow over the pan.
